This weekend was an awesome weekend. Hubby not only took Friday off but my wonderful mother came down Saturday to watch JaMonkey while Hubs and I had a much needed date night.
Best thing was we did something we each wanted to do. We started out heading to Midtown for a Homebrewing contest. Mark didn't enter anything but a couple of guys in his brew club did, and won! It's called 5 Seasons Brewery. We have a Groupon for a Free brewery tour and tasting but they weren't doing them that night. He got all giddy though because the make all their beers there and they let you taste before you buy a pint. We hung out for a little while, I had a glass of wine while he drank some beer of course. I met a few people from him brew club, we missed getting some raffle tickets for free beer “stuff”.
On our way to what I wanted to do which was see Tim Burtons Alice in Wonderland. Hubs had an awesome idea! Our favorite Thai restuarant is in Smyrna off Windy Hill so we never get to go. It's called Siam Square. Great atmosphere, a staff the he knows really well, and the best Thai food I've ever had. I ran into an old coworker and caught up with her. We made googly eyes at each other before our food came. Probably made everyone around us sick. Caught up on stories from our past and just talked in general. It was great. Then we brought my Mom a burger before our movie started. JaMonkey was still up fighting every once of sleep. I took her up to read a story and kiss her goodnight. Then we headed back out.
Let me just tell you, Im just slightly obsessed with Tim Burton. I've seen all his movies, that I know of, multiple times. I think he is a creative imagnitive genious! That and Johnny Depp, enough said. The movie was great, go see it! It's not the Alice in Wonderland story from the book. The story line is thirteen years after Alice first went to Wonderland. She is coming back to help them defeat the Red Queen. I won't give away the whole story but it's good.
So we got to do some thing for both or us. First the brewery for him. Then the Thai place for both of us. Followed by my movie! Perfect we should try to plan it like that every time. We end up smiling and enjoying ourselves much better.
