How I Stayed on Track (Kinda) This Holiday

With the great advice that Andrea Riggs gave about staying healthy over the holidays I was able to stay on track most of the time.

I drank only water (and maybe some coffee) to keep myself feeling full. A good hearty breakfast. Even on the run. Like the Egg White Delight, that I love so much that I now also eat at home! Egg White Delight McMuffin is freshly prepared with 100 percent egg whites, freshly cooked on the grill with melted white cheddar, a slice of extra lean Canadian bacon and served on an English muffin, made with 8 grams of whole grain. White cheddar…yum! Did I mention I love cheese? I’m kind of lucky since it’s only available in Atlanta and Austin. I hope it launches nationwide because I’m telling you, it’s good!

I also got a little bit of a workout in playing Just Dance with my little one. She likes to boogie and it breaks a good sweat when we do it for awhile. It’s pretty chilly down here but it’s been raining like crazy in Georgia so the only walking I got in was at the mall as I was trying to get the last minute gifts but as crowded as it was I wasn’t able to walk fast.

But I fell off the wagon when I started baking holiday treats for friends and neighbors. Because you can’t make all this good stuff without tasting it to make sure it’s not terrible! Right? No, ok then. Then my husband brought home all the treats that people made and brought into the office. He’s such an enabler!

But I’ve since thrown away all sweets that made it into my house despite my husbands sweet tooth. If he wanted to eat them he should have left them in his office desk! I’m getting back on track no. With the tips she gave us I can use them all year round!

The Greater Atlanta McDonald’s Operators Association (GAMOA) partnered with bloggers such as me to help educate us all about the new Egg White Delight McMuffin. As part of this program, I received compensation. They did not tell me what to purchase or what to say about the use of the product. GAMOA believes that consumers and bloggers are free to form their own opinions and share them in their own words. GAMOA policies align with WOMMA Ethics Code, FTC guidelines and social media engagement recommendations. A winner will be chosen by random and voucher fulfillment will be handled by a third party.

I’ve been horrible this holiday season too. My husband wants to lose weight and relies on me to have healthy, low fat things on hand while limiting the amount of temptations but with the holidays I got a little carried away with the baking. I’m not happy to say I probably contributed to some added weight but I’m hoping I can help him in his weight loss journey in the upcoming year.
