Izon View Camera Review

I received the Izon View camera to review, all opinions are 100% my own.

The same week my Izon View camera arrived my regular baby monitor broke and kicked the bucket. It’s also the same time that we took down one side of the crib to turn it into a toddler bed. It’s that moment when you need the camera monitor the most. When you catch funny moments like your little one doing baby yoga up in her room instead of taking a nap.

The Izon View has some pretty awesome features including push notifications to your phone if there is a noise or motion detected. If it senses either it will record video for the next 30 seconds. 20140708-141153-51113215.jpg

You can set the sensitivity and the size of the motion detection zone. This is a great feature if you are using the camera as a security camera in the house. I set it to the are in her bed so it would notify me if she got out of bed. 20140708-141153-51113060.jpg

When an alert comes through it puts it into the alerts section so that you can replay it. You can lock it so that it doesn’t get deleted and it holds a lot of videos.

When you replay it you’ll see the 30 second clip that triggered the alert. It has night vision so that you can see at all times throughout the night. 20140717-220110-79270574.jpg

The thing that I think it is lacking is the ability to move the camera remotely. The camera is positioned by a magnet on a dome shaped base. So it can only be moved by hand. That’s why I think this monitor would be a better security camera instead of a baby monitor. At the moment though it’s filling it’s purpose as a baby monitor quite well. I also like that when I have the Izon app open it won’t allow my phone to lock so that I can glance over and look at it at anytime and not have to unlock and navigate to the app to check on the baby.

Something that comes in handle now that we are potty training and the moment she has a dirty diaper she takes it off. As cute as a naked baby butt is, it’s not fun cleaning up after the mess that wasn’t caught in the diaper. This is why I will always own a video monitor over a sound monitor. You can’t hear diapers coming off!

The Izon View camera is $99.95 right now on their website.
