Making the Switch (Back) to Verizon #vzwa

Hello my name is Meghan and I’m a contract hopper. (Hi, Meghan). Since I was old enough to own a cell phone I’ve bounced back and fourth between the 4 major carriers. Each time was for a different reason. Saving money, newest cool gadget and the number one reason…coverage.

The latest Verizon commercial puts it into perspective the best. Now the sneaking thing about advertising you see for major carriers isn’t always accurate. They can claim they have “The nations largest 4G network” when in reality they are pushing their “Accelerated 3G” technology and calling it 4G. That’s where having a husband in the telecommunications industry really helps out in clearing up the facts.

Since being apart of the Verizon Ambassador program I’ve gotten to test out my HTC Droid Incredible in some pretty remote places in the North Georgia mountains. In some of the spots I visited I was sure that I would have lost service but was extremely surprised to find that not only did I have service but I had 4G LTE service! I couldn’t believe it. That was the deciding factor for me. I was already impressed with the speed of the 4G LTE but being able to find it in the middle of B.F.E. is a big deal. We are up there a lot and my husband travels a lot to job sites across the southeast so its great in case of emergencies.

When we decided to make the switch back to Verizon I already knew what the plan was. We would get the newest iPhone 5. Mainly because I own a MacBook and an iPad so I wanted to be able to utilize the features that allow them to “talk” to each other.  Some people think I’m just a “brand whore” but when you kind a product you love don’t you tend to stick with it? I tried very hard with the Android systems I just didn’t like it. I had far more problems with my HTC phones then I would like to note so yes I am brand loyal to Apple. I’ve been waiting for the 4G capable iPhone to appear for quite some time and I’m so glad I waited because this thing is FAST!

It’s a no brainer. For blogger especially. We are on the go all the time. We tweet, instagram and blog from our phones so we need a network that is going to keep us from pulling our hair out and Verizon does. Plus you know your going to have coverage no matter what city you are in.

It doesn’t matter how you present it, Verizon has the coverage. So that is the main reason for our switch. So far it’s been the best decision yet!

I am participating in the Verizon Wireless Ambassador program and have been provided with a wireless device and three months of service in exchange for my honest opinions about the product.

  1. Thank for the post. I used to use Verizon but where I live out in the sticks, At&t had better coverage. I’m thinking about switching back now.

    • That was the same with my family. It’s only Verizon or AT&T out there. So I brought my Verizon HTC Droid Incredible to the area so they could see the difference in coverage and they are planning on switching as well because they were so impressed.

  2. I’ve been a VZW customer for years and the service just can’t be matched. Everytime one of my friends says they can’t get a signal, I check my phone and I’m always good. I love Verizon!
