Have you ever wondered what the crayons that get left around your house are thinking? The Day the Crayons Came Home tells you. This story is a cute look at the crayons that are forgotten in random places when your kids are coloring. This book is a follow-up to the popular The Day the Crayons Quit.
The poor Neon Red Crayon that was left behind during a family vacation and trying to find his way back home. Orange and Yellow were left out in the sun and are now melted together. There is even a page for the cool Glow in the Dark crayon that is scared of the dark. His page really does glow in the dark with is fun if you’re reading this story at bedtime. You can shine a light on him and then turn the lights off the see the things lurking in the dark.
All of the illustrations are drawn with crayons, making this a fun kids book because they can relate to the pictures because they have probably drawn similar ones at some point. We loved this book and now I plan on getting The Day the Crayons Quit to see the funny stories in it.
