Wow, another year in the books and have to look back and reflect on some of the highlights from the year. I’ll be honest; it was chaotic because I’ve been taking five classes a semester and I’m now a senior in college. My husband is now a sophomore and all this while working full time.
I was accepted to graduate school for an accelerated bachelors masters degree program so while I’m finishing out the final classes for my degree in journalism and emerging media, I’ll be starting my masters in professional writing. I’m thrilled to start creative writing.
I started doing a lot more videos for our YouTube channel. (I hope you’ll subscribe!)
We did a lot of traveling this year and got to experience some pretty amazing “firsts” for our family. It’s best to start at the beginning.
We kicked off the start of the year with the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration at Walt Disney World and took our first Disney Cruise. We surprised Squish and made the whole trip a birthday celebration. We experienced Pandora for the first time, and I turned myself into an Avatar. The girls became Padawans in the Jedi Trails!
I managed to stick to my Keto diet during the Disney Cruise, and the crew made it really easy for me! I also got to meet two of my idles, Ashley Eckstein, the creator of Her Universe and Ashley Taylor one of the amazing artists that provide designs to Disney and Her Universe.
I took the girls on a road trip to Gatlinburg, and we loved every second of our girls trip to the mountains. It was a great way to reconnect during a break from school.
A trip to San Francisco had me exploring with a great friend in a Go Car. We saw all the hot spots and loved being a tourist before heading to Pixar Animation Studios to kick off the Incredibles 2 event. During our trip, we got a surprise visit to Lucasfilm, and there were some tears when I walked up to the Yoda statue. After our Star Wars visit, we got to see the Walt Disney Family Museum and experience Walt Disney’s life and legacy.
After that exciting event, I got to visit LA for the Tully press junket and interview the cast including Charlize Theron. She was fantastic and so down to earth.
May the Fourth brought the Millennium Falcon experience to Atlanta, and I geeked out pretty hardcore.
A trip to the Georgia Coast to see the King and Prince Resort was relaxing up until my site was hacked. Luckily, my host was able to fix it while I was away.
A summer trip to Pigeon Forge with the girls brought out the fun of another girls trip.
Marvel madness began when I went to LA for the Ant-Man and The Wasp event. I was a little star struck from meeting Paul Rudd, but having Evangeline Lilly reenact her Avengers: Infinity War reaction was everything.
My husband got to visit NASA Kennedy Space Center to learn and watch the launch of the Parker Solar Probe.
Hubby and I went indoor skydiving which was a pretty cool experience that I would love to do again sometime.
I hosted two movie screenings this year for the first time. Goosebumps 2 happened during a hurricane, so I was bummed out that we didn’t fill a theater. The Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald fan event was pretty amazing. I dressed up and got to be with my fellow Wizarding World fans. We gave out some great prizes and watched a live Q and A after the movie.
I finished the year by heading to California one more time for the Mary Poppins Returns and 25 Days of Christmas Event. After walking the red carpet and meeting one of my favorite directors, I’ve been singing the Mary Poppins Returns songs nonstop! I also got to make Christmas crafts with folks from the Disney Channel which was pretty fun.
Hitting every Disney Park in a year is pretty exciting!
2019 is going to be another amazing year. I graduate, and my husband has already been accepted to cover the demo mission of the NASA Commerical Crew! Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge opens at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. So many amazing movies are coming out. We are looking forward to Captain Marvel the most and the finale of Avengers: Endgame.
