The Serenity Star from Aden + Anais has got to be one of my favorite must have products for your baby or nursery. I didn't need one with my first daughter but it's been a true
life sanity saver. It's an all in one helper.
Here are some of the features:
It has a beautiful design that is sure to fit into any nursery decor. It's sleek and modern star shape fits nicely on a side table. We have ours placed on our bedside table because the baby is still sleeping in our room. I also keep it there because unlike other baby products that are mainly battery operated this one has a plug. YEAH! If you need it to be portable though you can also use batteries.
You can see on the screen that it shows the time as well as the temperature. You'll also notice that the front of the start glows. Now having a nightlight is handy but the one flaw the Serenity Star has is that there is no way to turn off the light. So in my case with the baby in our room I have to cover it so the light doesn't keep me up.
The light actually changes color as well. If the temperature is below 64 degrees the light will turn blue because it's too cold in the room. If the temperature gets too warm (above 74) the star turns red. When the room is a good temperature the start will turn back to white. It's handy in extreme climates. If it's too hot in our bedroom my Peanut gets really sweaty so i know to keep the fan on in there while she is napping during nap time.
On the back you'll find a switch to show you which side you last breastfeed on. But even more so it records the time you last feed.
The main reason why I wanted the Serenity Star though was because of the sound machine feature. My daughter has to have either ocean sounds or white noise (static). It helps drown out any other sounds. Big kid playing, dogs barking and doorbells ringing. When Peanut was really little she had to have a few things just to go to sleep. White noise, swaddled tight, her pacifier, and to be rocked. It was a tiring method that I'm glad she's grown out of all that mess because it was exhausting. But she does still need the sounds. So we keep it near the bed and it works like a charm! It also has two lullabies and a heartbeat option.
It combines a lot of useful tools into one sleek design. It's great to look at and the features are amazing. My only complaint is that the night light needs and off switch.
I was sent the Serenity Star in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
