Behold the X-Men: Dark Phoenix Trailer

FInally! The trailer for Dark Phoenix is here after so much waiting and even reshoots of the scenes from the film.

Check out the trailer. X-Men: Dark Phoenix is in theaters February 14th.

I have been waiting for the X-Men movies to cover Jean Grey for a long time. She is my favorite X-Men and one of the most powerful mutants on the planet. In nerd speak, she is an Omega level mutant and there are only a handful of mutants on the list.  This end shot gives us a glimpse of the Dark Phoenix coming out. X-Men: Dark Phoenix

From the trailer, it looks like we get a bit of an origin story to learn about Jean’s childhood and the trauma that she went through. More importantly, we see what Professor X did to her to block those memories in her mind, making it hard to heal.

Jean Grey becomes the Dark Phoenix in X-Men: The Last Stand when she joins forces with Magneto. It looks like we are going to see Jean Grey coming to Magneto again in this film to find her place in the mutant world. There is also a funeral that we see. Beast switches sides to help Magneto, probably because he doesn’t like what Xavier did to Jean. Also made apparent by them fighting in the kitchen.

The only thing that bothers me about this trailer is that there is a heavy focus on Charles Xavier and what he did to Jean. Maybe it’s just the trailer and they are trying to keep the story hidden. But I feel like the focus should be on her character more than any others. I get that the Professor X / Magneto feud is a main storyline in X-Men, but there are SOOOO many amazing characters that need the spotlight!

Fingers crossed that 20th Century Fox doesn’t muck this story up as they did for X-Men: Apocalypse which could have rivaled an Avengers Infinity War / Thanos movie.

    Firebird
    really liked it
Firebird is a solid dark romantasy read. You have dragon-shifter political leaders of Rome. A witch who I don’t think we have seen the full extent of her power yet. There were so many little side stories told that I believe our FMC will ...
    Sunrise on the Reaping

Oh Haymich, my heart is shattered for you. This was the perfect bridge between The Ballard of Songbirds and Snakes and Catching Fire. Linking the wickedness of The Hunger Games with the victors who came together to end them. If Suzanne C...
