Bringing Back Old Holiday Memories

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Glade®. The opinions and text are all mine.

I have a photographic memory but I don’t always remember everything but there are some scents that can trigger a flood of memories. I used to go to a lot of overnight camps when I was growing up and there was a shampoo I used during one summer. Every time I smell it now it brings me right back to that summer and the fun I had. Christmas is the one holiday that triggers so many memories for me. Here are a few of my favorites.

Evergreen – It’s reminds me of going out to Christmas tree farms and cutting down our own tree. That fresh cut hemlock that you can’t find in a parking lot. Those ones are dried out by the time you get them home and they never lasted long.

Eggnog – Every year my family and I watch National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. We have been watching it together since I was old enough to hear the cursing in it. My husband hasn’t understood or gotten used to this family tradition yet but one day I’ll have him reciting every word just like we do. Eggnog reminds me a certain scene in the movie.

Spices – Like cinnamon, gingerbread and pumpkin pie spice. The Glade® Under the Mistletoe scent that is sold exclusively at Target stores has a hint of a cinnamon note to me. I keep it in my kitchen because it brings back memories of my mom and grandmother baking in their kitchens. We used to have big family get togethers when we all lived in Florida. For every holiday, it was a big, loud, and a chaotic mess that I loved every second of it.

Peppermint – I think I lived off candy canes as a child. I never really liked peppermint any other time but there was one kind of candy cane that I liked and I would eat them like crazy. I would suck on the ends until they were sharp and dangerous. My mother didn’t like my candy canes fights with my little sister.

Firewood and Smoke – We lived in the mountains for most of my childhood so we had a fireplace or woodstove to keep us warm. Especially when the weather would knock out the power and it was our only heat source. But I loved sitting in front of the fireplace on Christmas eve in our warm pajamas opening just one present before we went to bed. It’s a family tradition that we continued with our own children.

No matter what the scent, the Glade® Limited Edition Winter Collection can help trigger some old family memories while you’re making new ones. That’s why the holidays are my favorites. Grab this offer from Cartwheel to try one of the Glade® Limited Edition Winter Collection found at Target.

What’s your favorite scent of the season?

Celebrate the season with festive fragrances from Glade®. Spread holiday magic through the town with the scent of bright holly berries and fresh pine garland, featured in Target’s exclusive scent, Under the Mistletoe.

Firebird

Firebird is a solid dark romantasy read. You have dragon-shifter political leaders of Rome. A witch who I don’t think we have seen the full extent of her power yet. There were so many little side stories told that I believe our FMC will ...
Sunrise on the Reaping
it was amazing
Oh Haymich, my heart is shattered for you. This was the perfect bridge between The Ballard of Songbirds and Snakes and Catching Fire. Linking the wickedness of The Hunger Games with the victors who came together to end them. If Suzanne C...

This was a sweet romance read. I really enjoyed the audiobook narrators (Joshua Manning and Stina Nielsen). I don’t usually read books that fall into the religious category, but I’m a sucker for Scots and Irishman so that is why I wanted...

I am thoroughly enjoying the Hell Bent series. My Demon Hunter was even better than My Funny Demon Valentine. I’m a sucker for demonology stories, and these are filled with all kinds of interesting characters. This one features a plus-si...
