When your kids are little it can be hard to get them to brush their teeth properly. I know my little one is very independent, so when she brushes her teeth I normally have to step in to make sure she hits all the surfaces in her mouth. Some days it’s a fight and other times she doesn’t mind at all. It took us awhile to get into the swing of a good routine down to make sure her brushing is actually doing her some good. It starts with her “brushing” her teeth. Which is generally the bottom left hand side and nowhere else. I then have to take over and get the remainder of her teeth. My favorite is when she smiles big for it.
My secret to a happy morning is telling my daughter that it’s time to tickle her teeth. Our morning routine generally ends in giggles instead of screams. We’ve also tried the Aquafresh app. I’ve always trusted Aquafresh, The little mouth experts™. Their training toothpaste is our favorite and I’ve used it with both of my girls over the years. With the safe to swallow formula I know that it’s going to be fine when she doesn’t know how to spit yet. No artificial colors or preservatives are a big plus as well!
My little one loves the taste of it also. The Apple Banana flavor is another great way to get her excited about brushing her teeth. It’s important to start brushing their teeth right when the first one appears. Compared to your tooth enamel, your baby’s is 50% thinner. That’s why you need expert protection from an early start. A pea sized amount gets the job done.
We will continue to use the Aquafresh training toothpaste until we get “the spit” down. Make sure to check out the Aquafresh app to help your kids during their brushing routine.
