Calming Myself and My Skin

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Aveeno. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for participating.20140504-144701.jpg

The tagline of my site is Making Sense of Chaos, something that explains my life pretty frequently. Especially lately! I didn’t realize how much life was going to change after I went back to school. 3 days a week I was getting kid one up and on the bus, get kid two up and to the daycare, find a parking spot at the college, walk across campus to get to class, run to get kid two and get home right as kid one gets off the bus from school. Then I can sit down and check my RIDICULOUS email, make my to do list for the work I need to get done, cook something for dinner, make sure all homework is completed, get the kids ready for bed and then I get to relax right? Wrong! Then I try to type up blog posts. I try to take my photography during the day then I edit in the evenings and same with writing. Then I drag myself up stairs and set my alarm to do it all over in the morning. Taking the Aveeno Daily Challenge was well, challenging.

I was featured on the Aveeno Facebook page highlighting my choice to de-stress. I vowed to take 30 minutes each day to meditate and declutter my brain. Did I happen to mention how hard it is to steal a moment at any time during the day? Out of the three weeks that I was doing this challenge I think I got only 3 days in to sit a moment and relax. One of these days I had the ultimate de-stress! I told my husband I was going to take a bath and he kept the kids downstairs long enough to have almost an hour to myself! I broke out the bubbles, and the Aveeno Stress relief body wash that has lavender in it. I lit my lavender wooden wick candle and grabbed a few of my easter chocolates. Talk about a refreshing moment. I need to commit to one of those a week (or at least a month).

20140504-144617.jpgAlong with the 30 minute me time I used Avveno Daily Moisturizing Lotion on my skin. Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion is formulated with ACTIVE NATURALS® Colloidal Oatmeal and blended with rich emollients to soothe and moisturize dry skin. ACTIVE NATURALS® Colloidal Oatmeal is the #1 natural ingredient most trusted and recommended by dermatologists. I suffer from very dry sensitive thing. It’s an Irish thing for sure. So I’m always a sceptic when it comes to my skin. You can tell a difference just by touching it that it’s formulated differently than regular lotions. Other lotions can be greasy or too thin but Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion is thick and almost feels like it’s sealing my skin. I put it on after I towel dry out of the shower because it helps lock in the moisture from the shower. I saw a difference in my skin almost immediately and I wasn’t using it every day. I use it a few times a week. My hands are so soft now. My elbows are less scary looking too!

I’m glad that school will be out for the kids soon. I need to get back to the fun spontaneous adventures that we can get into. I’ll still be taking classes, but they will be online, giving me a chance to have more fun during the day.
