I participate in this program on behalf of Champions for Kids and The Motherhood. All opinions are my own.

If there is one thing that every child needs growing up it’s a book. A child’s love of reading can open the doors to many amazing things. So I participated in a Champions for Kids SIMPLE Service Project Fuel Your School book drive to help gather books for children in need. I asked my fellow Georgia Bloggers to help by donating used books that they no longer wanted or needed. It resulted in a full trunk of books that I donated to Sheltering Books.

Book DriveSheltering Books, Inc. is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3)  charity started by Mackenzie Bearup of Alpharetta Georgia.  Sheltering Books provides adult and children’s books for homeless shelters across the USA. Today the charity is run by both Mackenzie and her brother Benjamin.  Benjamin focuses on providing books to our military across the world. They have helped so many and have even started donating the books to other countries.Sheltering Books

The core values of Champions for Kids are simple, yet profound, and drive their efforts to “mobilize millions” to help children — All children should have: Someone who cares; a Place to belong; Hope for tomorrow and provisions for their journey. All children.

SIMPLE Service Projects are an easy way to help children in the community.

Every SIMPLE Service Project has 4 basic steps:

  • GATHER your friends, family, and co-workers.
  • LEARN about the needs of children in your community.
  • GIVE items to help kids enjoy happier & healthier lives.
  • SHARE your story with us to inspire others.
