We ditched cable last year so we’ve been streaming all of our shows online since then. The platforms that we use though are meant for parents and kids. So I have to be careful when she streams, to make sure that she isn’t watching something that is too old for her. I’ve found her watching a few shows that I had to say no to. Either they were too violent or that held no good messages for young girls. But I can’t block them, or delete them from profile. I just have to make sure she doesn’t watch them.
So it’s important that she can watch shows on a platform that I know will filter out all the bad stuff. Kidoodle.TV does all that for you. It’s a platform specially for the kiddos! We can watch it on the computer or I can download it on the iPad for her. I have complete control over what she watches in the Parents Room. I can sort shows by age group and individually turn off certain shows that I don’t want her watching. When we are watching on the iPad app I can set time limits of how long she is allowed to watch TV. This was my favorite feature by far. Being able to limit her TV time. It automatically will shut her out when time is up!
There were a lot of shows she already loves watching along with some new ones that we were excited to find. Our favorites were the National Geographic channel shows. We can watch the critter cam and watch animals in their environment. You also have some great classics, Strawberry Shortcake and Inspector Gadget, both are shows I watched as a girl. It’s going to be great having this on when we are traveling for the holidays.
