Last month I got a sneak peek at the upcoming movie, Christoper Robin. A story about a grown-up Christopher Robin that has lost touch with his playful side.
Check out the teaser trailer for Christoper Robin here.
We got to hear from Kristin Burr, the producer of Christopher Robin, and she dished about her love for Winnie the Pooh and what it meant to make this film. The film is a live-action movie, but it isn’t a remake. Disney wanted to play off of the popularity of Beauty and the Beast and The Jungle Book but create a new story to captivate fans. The Winnie the Pooh characters are CGI, but as you can see by the trailer, they are still toys with a well-loved, worn look.
Christopher Robin broke his promise to Winnie the Pooh and never returned to the Hundred Acre Wood. He is grown now and has his own family, but he is very busy with his job and has lost sight of the fun he used to have. Pooh finds Christopher Robin and enlists his help in finding his other friends from the Hundred Acre Wood. We get to see the whole gang reunited and Christopher Robin’s daughter, Madeline, helping the toys. Christopher Robin even fights Heffalumps in the movie!
Ewan McGregor plays Christopher Robin, and he was the perfect choice. Burr said that they wanted to cast someone that you can easily forgive for putting his job first and then finding his way back to his family and friends. His wife is played by the amazing Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter and Cinderella’s mother). The talented Jim Cummings returns to voice Winnie the Pooh.
There were tears when we were talking about this movie and seeing clips. This is one of my favorite childhood shows. Winnie the Pooh is timeless, and I love sharing it with my family.
Christopher Robin hits theaters August 3rd, 2018!
