Demogorgonzola Crostini - Stranger Things Inspired Foods

I may be a little excited about the upcoming premiere of Stranger Things season two. So excited that I wanted to share some Stranger Things-inspired food that you can make for your viewing party! This is what I call the Demogorgonzola Crostini. It has a funny story, I promise, stay with me.

My husband and I binge-watched the first season a few times already. After the initial armchair clutching and swearing at the screen, you can joke about and discuss how amazing this show really is. We even started cracking jokes about the Demogorgon to have run with it.

If you refer to the monster as the demogorgonzola during your binge, it makes it far more entertaining. So I thought, that would make a great gorgonzola cheese recipe. But not just any food item. I wanted to tie in the upside-down and the gory parts of the show as well. Alas, the Demogorgonzola Crostini was born!

This would be the perfect thing to serve at a Stranger Things viewing party. They are handheld for easy eating in front of the TV on October 27th, when all episodes of season 2 begin streaming. Not to mention, they are super simple to make.

Let’s start by preparing the bread first.

Brush the butter, garlic, and parsley mixture onto both sides of the french bread. Lightly toast for approximately 5 – 8 minutes. Watch that they don’t over toast or burn.

While the bread is toasting, make the steak rub. Sprinkle the rub all over the steak, top, and bottom. If you wish, this can be done ahead of time for it to have a deeper season/taste, but it’s not necessary.

Sear the meat on both sides for approximately 3 – 4 minutes each for a medium rare cook. If you would prefer it more done, then increase the searing time for about a minute or two each. (6 minutes a side would be well done). Remove from the pan and let rest.

In a small saucepan, combine the cream, gorgonzola, sour cream and cream cheese. Stir until the cheeses melt and everything is incorporated. Add your salt to taste. Remove from the heat and set aside for now.

Slice your meat into thin slices against the grain. Time to assemble our crostini.

Take one crostini, and lay the strips of beef on top. Follow with a few dollops of the gorgonzola sauce. Top with parsley.

If you want to go all out I suggest Eggo waffles, meatloaf, Coca-Cola, french fries, ice cream and various candies from the 80’s! Epic Stranger Things viewing party food!

Firebird
really liked it
Firebird is a solid dark romantasy read. You have dragon-shifter political leaders of Rome. A witch who I don’t think we have seen the full extent of her power yet. There were so many little side stories told that I believe our FMC will ...
Sunrise on the Reaping
it was amazing
Oh Haymich, my heart is shattered for you. This was the perfect bridge between The Ballard of Songbirds and Snakes and Catching Fire. Linking the wickedness of The Hunger Games with the victors who came together to end them. If Suzanne C...

This was a sweet romance read. I really enjoyed the audiobook narrators (Joshua Manning and Stina Nielsen). I don’t usually read books that fall into the religious category, but I’m a sucker for Scots and Irishman so that is why I wanted...
My Demon Hunter

I am thoroughly enjoying the Hell Bent series. My Demon Hunter was even better than My Funny Demon Valentine. I’m a sucker for demonology stories, and these are filled with all kinds of interesting characters. This one features a plus-si...
