The latest addition to the Disney Imagicademy line up is now available! Mickey’s Magical Arts World is filled with everything to get your child’s creative juices flowing with drawing, costume & movie making, materials, design and music. If you want to see the gameplay in action watch the video at the end of this post. If you’ve ever logged into the Disney website for things like Disney Parks you can use this same login for the Disney Imagicademy apps as well. This gives you access to create a Parent profile and a profile for each of your children. The benefit of doing this is to be able to see your child’s learning and game play progress as they progress and play more. The Parents app is a fantastic place to find helpful articles and fun activities and craft ideas to do with your kids. We found a fun balloon rocket racer craft that we did at our Imagicademy party. The kids loved it.
In Mickey’s Magical Arts World, everything in the game can be designed and created. Down to the characters. When you go into the Drawing section you have the option to draw a character or anything else that is white (or blank) in the Arts World. It lets you create it any way that you want. When you are creating other objects like balloons or apples it has a cool option that walk you through the steps on how to draw it from scratch.
You are awarded Pins the more you create. In each section of the game you can earn different pins. This is where having a profile is beneficial, so that you can see what you’ve earned.
As you play the game and create things like characters, objects, buildings and even movies you will see them in the main game play area walking around. The picture below shows the character I drew in the Drawing Studio walking around in the Arts World. You can also see my character starring in her own movie on the movie screen. The more you play and draw the more your drawings come to life in the main area. Even the buildings that you see in the background can be designed to look any way you like in Minnie’s Design Studio
You can create toys made out of different materials and just have fun with all the options it gives you to change it. You can cast one of your characters in a fun movie. You need to do their hair, makeup and costume design first of course. After they are all ready you select the movie that you’d like them to appear in. You get to choose some classic Mickey Mouse cartoons to appear in. Donald and Daisy will walk you through recording your characters lines and sound effects. They it all gets put together and you can watch your character in the mini movie!
My favorite part was the music section that lets you pick a song and the instruments to play the song in the parade. You get a chance to experience tempo and pitch and discover the different sounds each instrument makes.
