So we set out for the studio. When we first arrived we were greeted by the owner Lisa DeLosh. I explained to her what I wanted to do, showed her a picture and gave me a rundown on everything in the store. She set JaMonkey up with some paper and crayons to keep her busy while she helped me pick out the perfect plate, the perfect colors and got JaMonkey ready to make a heart. Lisa claims she’s a professional when it comes to children and getting the perfect hand print so I stood back and took pictures. JaMonkey loved getting her hands messy, which isn’t normally the case. She’s a girly girl and doesn’t like getting dirty. So after we got her handprint heart on the plate I let her pick out whatever she wanted to paint in the store. She chooses a cute piggy bank. I also let her pick out two colors. So while I worked on finishing the rest of the plate. Outlining the heart and sponging the blue around the outside. Lisa offered to do the letters for me because my handwriting is not the best. It came out great. It was such a joy watching JaMonkey and her friends paint their piggy banks and color while chasing each other around the store. Talk about a heart attack. Kids running around a store with a wall of ceramics. Lisa was great though very helpful with keeping the kids focused.
It was a great thing to do with the kids. The paint is all non-toxic and easy to clean up off clothes and little funny faces! Earth, Paint, and Fire is located in the Towne Lake community. And you can check out their website here. You can also become a Facebook Fan and catch any specials or classes going on. Lisa told us about a Girls Night where we can bring in a bottle of wine and paint. I’m so looking forward to that.
