Our week gets a little crazy because of shuttling the girls to various practices for dance, gymnastics, and now swimming. Which doesn’t leave a lot of time for big dinners. We started meal planning this year to try and save money, as well as trying new recipes. We discovered that Wednesday evenings are the hardest nights for us because we normally don’t get home until 6 pm and we normally are eating by 5:30 each night. We designated Wednesday our Instant Pot or Crock Pot night for recipes but that also requires me to get the food into said pot at a decent time and that never happens. So Wednesday night has become our eating out night as well. Last week we decided to hit up Steak ‘n Shake for their Kids Eat Free All Day Every Day offer. Because who doesn’t love a good steakburger and milkshake!
I’m going, to be honest. I have never had a full meal at Steak ‘n Shake. They have been serving the original Steakburger and hand-dipper milkshakes since 1934, and I’m just now getting in to try them. I live under a rock. My husband always raves about them, but I just hadn’t bee in yet to try them out. Boy have I been missing out. Picking just one milkshake alone is a hard decision. Saving money on the kid’s meals was an added bonus. The Kids Eat Free All Day Every Day offer is good for guests that are dining in only. Another first for me as well, being inside a Steak ‘n Steak. The kids get some fun stuff to pass the time while they are waiting for their food. It comes with a fun hat and some activities. One was a booklet that had the menu and some crayons while the other was a pop-up car that the kids assembled and decorated with silly stickers. We had fun bonding about our day and the fun activities while we were waiting. For every $9 spent while dining in, one child in the party will receive their kid’s meal for free! JaMonkey tried the Steakburger minis while Peanut got a hot dog. That’s her favorite thing to get when it’s available on the menu. We haven’t gotten any at the house lately, so she gets them whenever we hit up an American food stand! After dinner, we indulged in a milkshake because after you read the list of flavors and options, there is no way you can pass them up. We stuck with the kid’s sized ones! They are the perfect portion size. (Milkshakes do not come with the kids meals, you have to order them separately)
I love that Steak ‘n Shake is providing affordable options for families. Aside from the Kids Eat Free Every Day offer, you can enjoy Half Price Happy Hour during weekdays from 2-5pm and am (all drinks and shakes are 1/2 price). There are also 24 meals under $4 all day every day. Four meals and milkshakes later, we walked out only spending about $25 for the 4 of us. I actually asked her if that was correct. Before I had gone in, I downloaded the Steak ‘n Shake app which gave me a $2.99 credit for a milkshake. I also used it to pay and leave of waiter a tip. It was super easy, and I earn rewards for every dollar I spend to earn more free food later. Bring on the free milkshakes and fries! Find your local Steak ‘n Shake to get these awesome deals. As the Terminator would say, we’ll be back!
