Man, it is hot this summer! I’m so ready for Fall weather already because if it isn’t over 90 degrees outside, it’s raining. It has rained so much here that there are tons of trees just falling over because the ground is so wet and can’t hold the roots up. To end the summer on a high note, I’m dishing about some of my favorite outdoor entertaining must-haves.
I was sent an awesome BabbleBoxx filled with some great products. The first was a delicious frozen treat that I had to beat my family away with a stick so that I could get some pictures. It’s called a Froozer, and it is our new favorite treat. They are made from 100% whole fruit and have no added sugars or juices in them. They come in these easy to grab tubes, and this healthy snack is only 35-40 calories per serving. I love that they have no preservatives, Non-GMO, and dairy-free. They come in four delicious flavors: Strawbanana Bliss, Tropical Sunset, Blue Aloha, and Orchard Cherry Berry. They didn’t last long in my house. I foresee picking some up at our local store very soon.
Oprah’s latest cookbook Food, Health, and Happiness is fantastic. It is filled with little notes and stories from Oprah Winfrey alongside 115 on-point recipes from sweet to savory. She talks about her struggles with weight and how she deals with them each goes around. It is something that I have always admired about Oprah Winfrey. She isn’t afraid to put herself out there and be honest. People can relate to her and her struggles, I know I have. I’ve already been marking down pages with recipes that I want to try. I’ll be trying out one of the sorbet recipes for you very soon. I’ve been on the search for a great new barbeque recipe because the stuff you buy in the store has so much added sugar or high fructose corn syrup, so I wanted to try my hands at making it fresh! What is summer without some grilling? The True Value Grill Zone 3 piece stainless steel BBQ toolset is a must. They are heavy duty grilling tools that are going to last a long time. The spatula is actually a 4 in 1 tool that you can use to turn, tenderize, cut, or use as a bottle opener. High quality but costs less.
Another helpful grilling product is PAM Cooking Spray. After giving the grill a good cleaning, I like to spray the grill with PAM Cooking Spray so that the messy BBQ sauce and meat doesn’t get stuck while flipping and turning. I find it very useful when cooking fish especially. The new PAM sprays come in a pump bottle, so you aren’t spraying aerosol near the flames. Reduced fat and calories with the superior non-stick goodness.
Living in the south, we tend to grill all year long. But this summer has been so hot, so we haven’t done it as much. I’ll be happy when it’s cooler outside. You don’t generally say that about grilling, but if you live in hot, muggy climates then you totally get where I’m going!
What are your summer must-haves?
I’ll have some chicken with a side of froozer, please!
