The sponsored post is brought to you by Mother’s Day, out in theaters Friday.
It’s time for the mother of all holidays, Mother’s Day! I love being a mom. When people were deep into their degrees, all I could think about was having a little one in my life to love me unconditionally. The consensus among my friends was that I was nuts because I didn’t want to go out partying. I didn’t find my idea of a career until after I had my first child. Sometimes you have to follow what you want to find the joy in the every day. It’s far better than spending your days at a job you hate and a routine that doesn’t bring your joy. Every mom has their own story, much like the moms in the film Mother’s Day, in theatres on Friday.
The film follows three women (and a man) with different stories that entice you to let go of your fears and to embrace the ones you love. It has an all-star cast including Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson, Julia Roberts, and Jason Sudeikis. Jason Sudeikis plays Bradley, widowed husband with two daughters. He takes on the role as “Mom” very well while he heals from his loss. Another topic they cover is judgmental parents, which unfortunately we still have to deal with at times. I’m so lucky that I am not one of those people. The prejudice walls start to come down and the bigger picture that happy families that love each other are what really matters becomes more prevalent. All of the stories are very touching, and they show us how the day connects us all in some way. It is the perfect movie to see with your mom. (If you want to surprise her with some tickets, you can get them here.)
Being a mother is one of the most rewarding accomplishments in life, and I couldn’t have kept my sanity without my own mother. Whenever I’m doubting myself or feeling lost, I call my mom. She always knows just what to say to let me know that I’m doing a great job with my own girls. She’s my hero.
