This week we had an awesome family pizza and game night together. We haven’t sat around and played at the table for a little while, and now that school is out we have to get creative to make sure we don’t hear the words, “I’m bored?” We have a massive closet filled with games for all ages, so we broke out a few and also tried out some new ones.
First, I stopped into Publix to snag a Frescetta Pizza. Publix now carries the new Freschetta Artisan Crust made with three whole grains, and right now you can get two pizzas for $10 from 5/19 – 6/8. They also have self-rising and brick oven crusts, which is my favorite. I also picked up some things to make a yummy power greens salad.
Filled with spinach, baby kale, chard, collards, chicory, and mustard greens. This salad is loaded with vitamin A and C, folate and calcium. I added some feta cheese, fresh strawberries, and some cashews as well then drizzle some balsamic vinegarette on top. My kids love it when I put fruit in our salads. I’m lucky enough that both of my kids enjoy salad. The girls thoroughly cleared their plates of their Freschetta Pizza and salads. It’s funny watching them eat salad because they eat their favorite parts first. The toppings go first and then on to the greens.
After dinner, we broke out a new game called Fast Flip which is a fun take on the Spot-It games. Then there was some Candyland action, which I never win because I’m always sent back to the beginning, but this time, my husband took that title.
It was nice just laughing and enjoying each other’s company. The girls have been enjoying summer so far. They spend a lot of time outside playing in our little kiddie pool and slip and slide. I can’t wait to see my water bill next month. Especially because after playing outside in the water, they come inside to take a bath. I’m going to start shampooing them in the yard.
