Fun New Kids Movie – Show Dogs Movie Review

The girls and I hit the theater to catch a fun new movie that hits theaters this weekend, Show Dogs! A fun new movie with talking dogs and some fun action.

Max, a macho, solitary Rottweiler police dog is ordered to go undercover as a primped show dog in a prestigious Dog Show, along with his human partner, to avert a disaster from happening.

Chris “Ludacris” Bridges voices max, and it gives him quite the ‘ruff’ side for the NYPD K-9. He becomes partners with Frank the FBI agent played by Will Arnett when some exotic animals are being smuggled out of the city. Their search takes them to Las Vegas where Max the beautiful Rottweiler has to go undercover as a primped show dog in a prestigious Dog Show.

The girls loved the movie. They were in giggles most of the movie. Talking dog movies are a favorite in our house, probably because we have three dogs ourselves. I get that they are cheesy but we have a soft spot for them! Also in the movie is Natasha Lyonne who you may recognize as Nicky Nichols from Orange is the New Black or Jessica from American Pie. The role of Mattie the Puppy Primper is an interesting one to see her in. I’m used to the girls next door look, but in Show Dogs he is a fancy dog handler that looks as primped as the pups walking the show floor.

It’s a star-studded cast of pups that you won’t want to miss. I asked the girls what their favorite part of the whole movie and this is what they said.

JaMonkey – I liked the part where Max got all the dogs excited about the after party and got all the dogs to jump in the pool.

Squish – I liked the whole thing!

Mom – My favorite part was when they were taking cracks at the actor’s names and previous characters. There were a few Lego Batman and Ludacris jokes. The “bloopers” at the ned were my all time favorite though.

Show Dogs hits theaters today and is a fun movie that the little ones are sure to enjoy.

    Firebird
    really liked it
Firebird is a solid dark romantasy read. You have dragon-shifter political leaders of Rome. A witch who I don’t think we have seen the full extent of her power yet. There were so many little side stories told that I believe our FMC will ...
    Sunrise on the Reaping
    it was amazing
Oh Haymich, my heart is shattered for you. This was the perfect bridge between The Ballard of Songbirds and Snakes and Catching Fire. Linking the wickedness of The Hunger Games with the victors who came together to end them. If Suzanne C...

This was a sweet romance read. I really enjoyed the audiobook narrators (Joshua Manning and Stina Nielsen). I don’t usually read books that fall into the religious category, but I’m a sucker for Scots and Irishman so that is why I wanted...

I am thoroughly enjoying the Hell Bent series. My Demon Hunter was even better than My Funny Demon Valentine. I’m a sucker for demonology stories, and these are filled with all kinds of interesting characters. This one features a plus-si...
