CAST INTERVIEW: Get Spooky with Nightbooks from Netflix

Nightbooks pushes the envelope when it comes to a kid’s film. It is sure to make the whole family jump. I sat down with the cast, Krysten Ritter, Winslow Fegley, and Lidya Jewett, to discuss what it was like filming and if they love scary movies.

Interview with Winslow Fegley and Lidya Jewett

Winslow Fegley plays Alex in Nightbooks and he is a lot like his character because he loves scary movies and scary friends, including Lidya Jewett during filming. Watch the interview below to hear about how much fun they had on set.

Netflix is bringing the scray stories to life just in time for Halloween. Just a warning, this one has some big scares and intense moments, so it might not be appropriate for younger viewers. It looks like a fun fantasy movie though!

Alex (Winslow Fegley) is a creative boy with a strong passion for writing scary stories. But when he’s labeled weird and rejected for what he likes, he swears he’ll never write again. That’s when an evil witch (Krysten Ritter), captures him in her magical apartment in New York City and demands that he tell her a new tale every night if he wants to stay alive. Trapped inside with Lenore, the witch’s spiteful cat watching his every move, Alex meets Yasmin (Lidya Jewett), another young prisoner who has learned how to survive the witch’s wicked whims. With Yasmin’s help, Alex must learn to embrace what makes him unique — his love for scary stories — and rewrite his own destiny to break them free.

Firebird is a solid dark romantasy read. You have dragon-shifter political leaders of Rome. A witch who I don’t think we have seen the full extent of her power yet. There were so many little side stories told that I believe our FMC will ...
Sunrise on the Reaping
it was amazing
Oh Haymich, my heart is shattered for you. This was the perfect bridge between The Ballard of Songbirds and Snakes and Catching Fire. Linking the wickedness of The Hunger Games with the victors who came together to end them. If Suzanne C...

This was a sweet romance read. I really enjoyed the audiobook narrators (Joshua Manning and Stina Nielsen). I don’t usually read books that fall into the religious category, but I’m a sucker for Scots and Irishman so that is why I wanted...
My Demon Hunter
really liked it
I am thoroughly enjoying the Hell Bent series. My Demon Hunter was even better than My Funny Demon Valentine. I’m a sucker for demonology stories, and these are filled with all kinds of interesting characters. This one features a plus-si...
