Looking for a unique gift idea that your kids won’t forget? Music lessons are an amazing option!
My oldest has always loved music. As she has gotten older she started lessons for violin, joined her school chorus, and recently got her own guitar. I hate that schools are cutting funding for the arts programs and they don’t experience music and other art classes on a daily basis.
My daughter suffers from anxiety and she is always happiest when she is listening to or playing music. I think it helps lower her anxiety and allows her to focus on something. I remember earlier this year she asked me if she could try out for Americas Got Talent. I can hear her singing into her Bluetooth microphone at the top of her lungs. She reminds me of myself at that age; I used to record myself singing on the big VCR style video recorders. It was pretty amusing to watch those videos.
Last Christmas my daughter saved all of the rewards from her math tutoring and redeemed them for a guitar for her dad. It was such a huge kind thing to do on a few levels, but she wanted him to learn how to play guitar, so they could play together. Talk about melting your heart. Now we have to work on getting them both guitar lessons.
Over the last few years, we’ve started giving the girls experiences over toys as gifts. Traveling to fun places has been a highlight, but I’ve started looking into lessons to things she loves doing as another option for gift ideas. I just found out that our local Guitar Center, one of the largest independent music educators in the U.S., offers guitar and voice lessons. They also offer free classes for kids and women once a month is certain locations. It’s a great way to get kids excited about music and introducing kids to different instruments.
The curriculum is approved by the National Association for Music Education, the world’s largest arts education organization. Guitar Center focuses on teaching theory through contemporary music. With teachers that are passionate about music and passing on that love to their students. Guitar Center also offer weekly office hours to help supplement your education. There is no charge for this service and no appointment is necessary.
I can’t wait to give these lessons a try and see how she likes them. Maybe one day you’ll see her on one of the talent shows singing and playing her guitar.

Awesome Idea! It doesn’t take up room in your house and the kids can use it forever. Excellent idea!
Music is a gift and great for more than we realise for the mind.
