The Great Wolf Lodge in LaGrange Georgia is now open, and there are many reasons why your family is going to love it. It's a wonderful place to visit with the whole family because there is so much to do together. Great Wolf Lodge is known for its indoor water park, but we wanted to experience all the other great things the resort has to offer. Here are 11 things your family will love at Great Wolf Lodge Georgia.
We were invited to stay and play at the Great Wolf Lodge in Georgia. All opinions are my own.
Check out our video from our stay.
My girls have been begging me to take them to a Great Wolf Lodge for a long time, so when the one in Georgia opened, I knew I needed to make that happen. One of the best things about the Great Wolf Lodge Georgia is that you don't have to be a resort guest to enjoy all the fun that they have to offer. Maybe you're road tripping through Georgia and need the kids to get out of the car and burn off some energy. A stop off of I-85 in LaGrange and you have the perfect playground. Great Wolf Lodge is also a great place to celebrate a birthday.
Great Wolf Adventure Park is where most of the attractions are located. Make sure to grab a Paw Pass for your kids. They have different passes available that include different attractions that are good for different age groups. You can purchase these passes when you book your room and also when you arrive. You can also purchase attractions a la carte.
The first thing we did when we arrived was the Great Wolf Creation Station. This is a fun shop where the kids can stuff their own Great Wolf Kids characters like Wiley, Violet, or Sammy. They have one for every character and also Charlock the dragon. The kids can stuff the creature, give it a name and even pick out outfits. After you make a new friend, you can get a fun Glitz glitter tattoo that is waterproof and lasts up to 7 days.
How about some gem mining indoors? Oliver's Mining Co. is a full gem mining sluice with trays for the kids to find gems. You get a bag of dirt that you get to sift and find some pretty great gems. They give you a card with all the gems on it to help your kids identify what they found. As the girls were sifting their rocks, kids were stopping to watch; it was like an exciting treasure hunt.
Camp H.O.W.L. was one of the highlights of the trip. There are fun crafts for the kids to do when they need a change of pace. During our stay, it was Father's day, so the girls were able to make #1 Dad buttons for him. The staff at Camp H.O.W.L. was full of life. They were singing and dancing with the kids, helping them with puzzles, and dressing up. In the evening, the room transforms into a parent-free area that parents can drop off their kids and enjoy a quiet evening together (on property).
Let the kids monkey around on the Rustic Ridge Climbing Wall or the Howlers Peak Ropes Course. The Ropes Course is two levels that kids can walk through balancing and gliding along. Both are great are tiring the little ones out!
My favorite attraction at Great Wolf Lodge Georgia is the Ten Paw Alley. Not like your typical bowling alley. This one is a shrunken down sized bowling alley. The lanes are shorter, the pins are smaller, and the bowling balls are smaller, making it pick for kids of all ages. We had such a fun time playing what I dubbed ‘mini bowling.'
Another one of my favorite attractions is the MagiQuest game. Gather your Magi Wand and go on a scavenger hunt around the resort to earn gold and gems, battle dragons, and more. We started playing MagiQuest in Pigeon Forge and brought the wands that we had purchased there with us to Great Wolf Lodge. The wands are assigned to a person, and Magi account that you can use at ANY MagiQuest location. It saves your game progress so you can continue the next time you arrive. There is also a little kids version of the game if they don't want to look for the specific items. A wave of the wand will make the item light up or move so that it is enjoyable for little ones as well. There is an app you can download to help you navigate around the lodge also.
Grab your putter and get to Howl in One! This fun mini golf course is located under the ropes course and has some adorable little obstacles that you have to get your golf ball through the course. My kids love playing mini golf, and I love that it is indoors. They made it lots of fun for the space they are in.
Grab a treat! The Great Wolf Lodge Georgia has three places to get a sweet treat. Dunkin' Donuts, Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, and the Great Wolf Candy Company are the perfect way to satisfy that sweet tooth craving. Plan your visit because Dunkin' Donuts is busy in the morning, Ben & Jerry's and the Candy Company are busy at night before bed. You can fill A LOT in the candy cups so I advise you visit the Candy Company early during your stay and you'll have something to munch on for the whole stay!
While it's nice you can pop in for a visit; the true adventure starts when you book a room and stay for a few days. We stayed for a weekend, and I think it was plenty of time to play and experience everything the Great Wolf Lodge has to offer. That was us going non-stop all day though. We are a go-go-go family! One of the main reasons to visit a Great Wolf Lodge is the indoor Wiley's Waterpark. There are so many slides and fun things to do for the kids. If you are early risers, the waterpark is nearly empty first thing in the morning. You can find plenty of chairs and lockers. No need to bring towels either, they hand out towels for all the guests.
The Great Wolf Lodge Georgia is home to two new water slides that are new to the chain and also to North America! Triple Thunder and the Rapid Racers are super fun. Our favorite was the Rapid Racers because the slides come together and connect so you can see the person next to you while you're racing. Take a look at our “point of view” video of all the great water slides at Great Wolf Lodge Georgia.
The only thing we didn't get a chance to experience was the outdoor pool area. We were too busy at the indoor water park!
