I’m participating in a campaign with mom it Forward on behalf of the Girl Scouts and Together Counts, all opinions are my own.

This past week I signed JaMonkey up to be a Girl Scout. I’m hoping that they have some openings for her in a troop. I was a Brownie when I was younger, while my Mom was the troop leader. One of my favorite things were the camps that I went to during the summer months. I made great friends and it really inspired me to be myself and also help others. Not to mention the badges that you can earn from activities like hiking or dancing or snacking!
In partnership with the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation, Together Counts and Girl Scouts of the USA have developed three “healthy habits” booklets for volunteers to use in conjunction with their Journey Adult Guides. These free booklets help guide girls on their journey as they learn to lead active, healthy lifestyles. The downloadable books are available for Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors and can help guide girls in fun ways to achieve “energy balance.” Energy Balance means learning to balance the calories we consume with the calories we expend. Calories in- calories out.
