This Thanksgiving my girls had the entire week off from school. In between decorating for the holidays, we hosted Thanksgiving at my house. So in order to get the kids excited about the start of the holidays and out from under my feet in the kitchen, I added a bunch of Christmas shows for them to watch. It's the perfect time to get ready for the big Christmas break from school. When they kids are home and it's too cold outside to play. There are so many great ones to choose from. Classics like Babes in Toyland and the Radio City Rockettes, to some of the kids favorite characters like Curious George, Veggie Tales and all the Disney and Dreamworks characters. Heck over Thanksgiving we watched Garfield the Cat, I haven't seen Garfield since I was a kid. I forgot how funny he is. My girls go to bed around 7:30pm so they miss all the Christmas specials that come on the major networks, and since I ditched cable we can't record and watch them later. So having all the options on Netflix are great.
Our Thanksgiving was a hit. We cooked all day and finished eating in about 20 minutes. Followed by a couple days of cleaning. I think I'll order out new year. But now our house has completely switched gears and has broken out the Christmas decorations and this year we decided to get a real tree. We only used a fake one because the kids were little and I didn't want to risk a tip over. The house smells like evergreen heaven. My oldest elf has gotten so excited since I made them a Christmas que that she's been begging to do everything Christmas related all week. It's not even December yet. It's sweet though, I love that she gets as excited about the holiday as I do.
What are some of your favorite Christmas shows to watch during the holidays?
