  • Incorporating Recycled Products into Your Green Life

Thanks to REPREVE for sponsoring today’s discussion
I love sustainable products. We buy them all the time and it’s nice know that we helped produce them as well. We recycle all of the plastics in our home and before we never really knew where exactly they were going. I’m sure some get remade into other bottles but we just found out about Repreve and the way they create sustainable fabrics from the plastic bottles we recycle. This awesome Repreve green beanie was made from 6 plastic bottles.

Repreve is a recycled fiber that helps turn plastic bottles you recycle into cool stuff you can wear and use every day. Now there’s no excuse not to recycle! I didn’t realize just how many awesome brands use Repreve recycled fabrics, some that we use on a regular basis. My husband wears Haggar all the time, their Life Khaki uses Repreve to put 7 recycled plastic bottles in every pair of pants. We are also big Ford fans and the Focus and Fusion both use it in their fabric seats. The North Face uses is in their clothing as well. Check out some of these other great brands you can find Repreve products in. You might be surprised to see something you use on the list.

The U.S. plastic bottle recycling rate is less than 30 percent—so less than one-third of all plastic bottles get recycled. Most people don’t think about what happens to plastic bottles after you recycle them. So Repreve is on a mission to get the word out: Just recycle more. And buy Repreve products. Simple right? nearly everywhere you go there are recycling containers right next to the trashcans. Just make the effort to place it in the right bin. You go through a lot of plastics in your home as well. Milk jugs, laundry detergent bins and plastic containers. If you set aside a bin in your garage you can periodically take the bin to your local recycling drop off. You may even have a pick up service.

Our planet is only so big. Let’s stop filling it with waste and start reusing our products. Take a look at the this video on how Repreve works. It’s really neat!

  • You look great in the hat!
I’m off to check out the Repreve site to see where I can find products made w/ recycled products!

  • Cool at! We’ve got to start recycling this year. I’m ashamed that we don’t do it, but our trash company charges more for it. Time to pay up, I guess, considering the consequences. Thanks for sharing!

    Firebird
    really liked it
Firebird is a solid dark romantasy read. You have dragon-shifter political leaders of Rome. A witch who I don’t think we have seen the full extent of her power yet. There were so many little side stories told that I believe our FMC will ...
    Sunrise on the Reaping
    it was amazing
Oh Haymich, my heart is shattered for you. This was the perfect bridge between The Ballard of Songbirds and Snakes and Catching Fire. Linking the wickedness of The Hunger Games with the victors who came together to end them. If Suzanne C...
    Some Like It Scot
    liked it
This was a sweet romance read. I really enjoyed the audiobook narrators (Joshua Manning and Stina Nielsen). I don’t usually read books that fall into the religious category, but I’m a sucker for Scots and Irishman so that is why I wanted...
    My Demon Hunter
    really liked it
I am thoroughly enjoying the Hell Bent series. My Demon Hunter was even better than My Funny Demon Valentine. I’m a sucker for demonology stories, and these are filled with all kinds of interesting characters. This one features a plus-si...
