I stopped by my local Kroger to pick up the new July issue of All You Magazine. It gives me something to do while the kids are napping or I’m sitting in car line waiting for my oldest in summer school camp. It’s loaded with great recipes, tips and coupons. I had no idea how many coupons they included until now. Now that it’s available at Kroger I can snag one during my grocery shopping trips. When I scanned this on at the register a coupon printed out that I was able to use for 25 cents off the cover price!
Since I’ve been doing the Shaklee program I’m trying desperately to focus on what I eat and getting more exercise. I found a great list of foods called the Fat burning dozen. I’ve added them to my future grocery list! There are also great tips for boasting your metabolism in this addition. I have the worst metabolism it seems so I’m planning on trying a few of these tips to see if I can turn things around.
Did you know that you can burn a ton of calories sleeping? I know getting sleep is important but if it’s uninterrupted sleep it’s even better because your any type of sleep deprivation affects the hormones that are related to your metabolism. Probably a good reason as to why women that have small children find it harder to lose the baby weight. They are losing so much sleep! I should tell my husband to start getting up with the baby because it’s making me fat. Do you think he’ll go for it?
I made one of the great recipes inside the magazine just yesterday and it turned out great! It reminded me of my Lemon Garlic and Squash pasta meal. This one had broccoli and olive oil in it though. It’s a great meatless meal that fills you up. Not to mention the kids like it and even ask for seconds. I just need to remember to eat a lot of small meals during the day. This will boost my metabolism and maybe help get me out the door a little more.
Check out the new All You July issue on stands now! There are lots of great coupons inside and 31 great recipes.
Sleep is definitely a must! Lack of sleep can also impact your immune system. Great recipe!
Yes, thank goodness mine finally started sleeping through the night. (knock on wood)
