This past week I had the pleasure of attending a Macy’s in store fashion show in Atlanta. I’ve never been to a fashion show so this was a new experience for me. But I was thrilled to find out that the first plus sized model would be speaking so my excitement went through the roof. I’m also excited to hear from real women. Her name is Emme and she is breast cancer surviver and a fierce voice to full figured and curvy women.
The fashion show covered some great fashions that I really loved. I’ve mentioned numerous times that I can’t dress myself without some serious direction from Pinterest and fashion blogs. Being curvy myself, it seems like all the options are thin. This fashion show broke that mold though with designers like Michael Kors, Calvin Klein and more. I’ve recently been on a dress and skirt kick so I was happy to see that it is in this fall. My favorite outfit of the night was this black and white knit dress from Calvin Klein with the the criss cross design across the midriff. It looked stunning on her and I plan on going back to try it on myself to see how it looks.
My friend Joyce of The Mommy Talk Show go to be a model for an evening and she did an amazing job despite her little man getting sad that she was walking away from him. I would have broke down in tears. But he joined her on stage and that to me was what this was really about. Real women in a real setting like holding their babies. It was just awesome.
Another trend were sweaters but not just long sweaters. They have short sleeved and three quarter sleeved as well.
Skirts are one of my favorites also because in fall you can where tights with them to keep your legs warm. Throw on a cute top and you have the perfect outfit, easy!
Cropped jackets also made the list. You can check out the whole fashion show with all the designers and looks in the video below. It’s a long one but it’s a great look at all the great looks.
