We grow as readers, and our tastes change from troupes, genres, and authors. The best way to refresh your library is to sell your old books and discover new ones without breaking the bank. Reselling isn’t just for clothing anymore. Once you sell your books, you can transfer the money to your bank account or use the funds to purchase books on your wishlist.
There are so many great book box subscriptions that offer exclusive editions with beautiful covers, artwork, and sprayed edges. They are so popular with book lovers though, that they all have waitlists. If you’re like me, you might be an ebook reader who prefers to buy book trophies for books that you plan on reading again or maybe to share with friends. The book trophies I look for are these gorgeous special editions.
How to Sell on Pango Books
The best and easiest way to sell is to download the PangoBooks app. You can take pictures and scan ISBN numbers to identify the book you want to sell.
- Click the Sell button along the bottom of the app to list books. It will open the camera to take pictures of your book. Make sure to show the book from all angles. Highlight if the book may have minor damage or beautiful sprayed edges.
- Next you’ll scan the ISBN to match the book in the app. If it doesn’t find a copy don’t worry, you can still list it by manually enter the information.
- Next you’ll select the condition, format (hardcover or paperback), the description (make sure you put any special edition notes here), and hashtags. Hashtags are another way for buyers to browse so it’s good to add them.
- Finally, enter in the price you would like to sell your book for. The app will give you a recommended price range, but you can also see recently sold items and currently live listings. This is helpful if you’re looking to sell a book quickly by offering a great deal.
- After you sell a book, it’s time to pack it with care. Use bubble mailer envelopes or a small box (good for multiple books) that includes wrapping your books with care. Some sellers like to include cute stickers and thank you notes which makes the experience more personable.
- Pango Books will create a prepaid shipping label for you. Buyers pay for shipping at checkout unless you have put a free shipping offer on your bookstore. You can either print the label at home or take your package to the USPS and they will print the label for you. Then pop the package in the mail.
- You’ll receive the earnings from your sale three days after your package is delivered. Pango charges a 20% fee for books that sell. You can list as many books as you want and you only pay the fees on books that sell.
There are lots of great booksellers on Pango that you can find your next great read. There is even a new feature on the Pangobooks website that allow buyers to search for multiple books so they can find sellers with everything they are looking for to save on shipping. Many sellers offer book sales on multiple items from their shops. I’ve really enjoyed selling my old books and making a little extra money so I can expand my TBR even more.
