Sometimes getting your kiddos to brush their teeth can be hard. I never really had a hard time with my first daughter, but the youngest is another story. She is extremely independent and doesn’t want me to help her with anything. You can only watch your kids brush that one molar on the left side for so long before you have to take over and try to show them that they have other teeth that need to get brushed also.
That’s when I have to break out my backwoods hog tie hold to get her to let me brush her teeth. This is where I sit on the floor and wrap both legs and arms around her. One hand holding her head and the other prying her mouth open to get the toothbrush in. It’s a site to see for sure. You’d think I was torturing her. That’s why I love the new Oral B Disney Timer App. It’s an app that you can add a child profile in and then let them customize it to the way they like it. It then plays music and shows a toothbrush on the screen. It shows where in their mouth they should be brushing. Top left or bottom, things like that. It makes sure your kids are brushing their teeth the recommended 2 minutes. After they have completed the time they get rewards in their profile. Special stickers they are earned and more. It’s really neat!
When we first started using the app we scanned our Oral B toothbrushes into to the app to add them to the specific child profile. The app helps cut down on the fight in the morning. My oldest is finally brushing her teeth longer than a quick sweep through. Plus it gives them something to look forward to in their daily routine. Brushing your teeth ranks up there with making your bed. It’s not high on the priorities list. It’s a little thing that helps a lot!
