We love a good comic book flick around here. The more action the better. So I’ve been looking forward to the new Superman movie, Man of Steel.
Synopsis:
A young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind.

The movie was on my “eh” list. As much as I love comic book movies this one left me on the fence. The story of Superman has always been a favorite. This storyline is pretty long in this one. It’s a lot to take in, but you learn everything there is to know about Superman or (Kal-El). The first part of the movie was learning all about how and why he was sent to Earth as a baby. Then it shows his life as a child in Smallville. That part was nice because it was like watching an episode of the TV show Smallville. The other half of the movie is all the action of fighting General Zod.
The one thing I didn’t like about this movie was the way that it was filmed. The cameras were constantly shacking. It was pretty ridiculous, to the point that I had motion sickness when I walked out of the theater. I wouldn’t suggest seing it in 3D because I’m sure it’s 10 times worse. The action scenes became hard to watch because the camera looked like it was having a seizure.
Aside from that I loved the movie. It was a great look into everything Superman. The kids will love it because, well because it’s Superman, come on! Let them wear their caps. Make it a Superhero evening.
