STOP! Before you create a new YouTube channel for that cool new blog you just added to your resume under a new email address there is a much easier and streamlined way to do it. It used to be that Google required your YouTube channels to have it’s own email account. This stopped users from creating multiple accounts for no good reason. I understood the reason but it made things a pain in the butt having to log in and out of different account each time. No you no longer have to have a separate email account to use YouTube. It is now totally integrated with Google Plus, even the comments.
Let’s get started! First thing you want to do is login to your Google account. Make sure you already have your Google + Page already created.
Head you your YouTube account now. Click on your picture in the top right corner of the page. Then click Switch Account. Select the Google + Page that you’d like to create a channel for. A pop up will appear and ask you if you want to rename your existing channel to that Google+ Page name or Create a new channel.
Click on Create a New Channel so that you have multiple channels under one login.
It then shows you that you’ll be creating a channel from your Google+ Page and how your name will appear.
It then creates your channel and brings you to your channel home screen. Go through the tour so that you can set everything you need to up. But you are not finished yet!
The next thing you’ll want to do is change your channel URL so it isn’t some random alpha-numeric combination. Go to the Account Settings section and click on Advanced. You’ll see the Channel settings with the crazy long URL. Click the Create custom URL.
You have now set up a brand new YouTube channel in less than 5 minutes and created an awesome custom URL to link on your blog.
