This post is part of the HEALTHY ESSENTIALS® 2014 program by Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies, Inc. and The Motherhood, who sent me a box of products and compensated me for my time. Opinions, experiences and photos shared here are all my own, and I hope you enjoy them.
I already miss sleeping in past 8 and later bedtimes in the evenings. While lots of families just went back to school this week, we've been back to school for a month now. It took some time getting back into the swing of things and my husband and I decided that we would start taking turns with who gets up each morning with my oldest to get her on the bus on time. I wish I could negotiate for every other week instead of every other day. Plus, it doesn't seem fair when the toddler gets up because my husband and oldest are too loud on their days. I'm getting the short end of the stick for sure.
Here is how our day goes.
Before bed routine:
Reading stories – Now that she is a beginning reader, JaMonkey reads us stories each night s part of her homework. It feels like it takes hours.
Brushing teeth – Deep cleaning the teeth, flossing and LISTERINE® SMART RINSE® Anticavity mouthwash. It provides 12-hour cavity protection and strengthens teeth 99% better than brushing alone.
Washing face – Scrub the days grim off. I use the AVEENO® POSITIVELY RADIANT® Skin Brightening Daily Scrub because it has little microbeads to gently exfoliate while you cleanse, leaving skin soft, smooth and even looking.
Pajama time – Time to get comfy and dish out hugs and kisses before heading for their beds.
Off to bed – All tucked in with extra kisses and alarms set for the next day.
Relax – Time to get work done and clean up messes so that they can make them again tomorrow.
Wake up routine:
Washing face – I tend to sweat in my sleep so in the morning I use NEUTROGENA® Oil Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit because the citrus scent is a great wake up call. I generally need some VISINE® also because my allergies are worse in the morning.
Brushing teeth – Scrub off the fuzz from your overnight slumber.
Getting dressed – Try to get dressed in the dark without making any noise so you don't wake up the toddler.
Eating breakfast – break out the oatmeal and cereal and scarf is down.
Shoes on – Hopefully they are near the front door and not scattered all over the house.
Gather homework – Because for some reason it isn't in the folder it came home in, it's scattered across the couch in the living room.
Jump on the bus – Hurry I hear the bus, stuff that folder in your bag. No I didn't have time to make your lunch you'll have to eat it at school sorry. Love you, have a great day.
Coffee – Ahhhhh
So it's a little chaotic in the mornings. But she makes it to school!
