My College Must Haves from Amazon Prime Student

Hurry, add/drop has started, the school’s website has crashed. Read your syllabus and gather the ISBN of all your books so you can find them cheaper because the bookstore is crazy with students and those books are above suggested retail value. That’s right; it’s the first week back to college for me and lots of other students around the country. This year I’m taking on a full load while my kids are away at school. I thought I would share with you one of my number one money saving tip for being a college student because let’s face it; college is expensive, and any help is welcome. Am I right?! I’ve been an Amazon Prime member for a long time, but when I became a student, I was pleased to find out that they have a program called Amazon Prime Student that makes my Prime membership even more affordable as well as offering me discounts I wouldn’t normally receive.

So here is my top money saving must haves from the Amazon Prime Student. The three T’s!

  • Textbooks – You can buy new or used college textbooks (or reading material) on Amazon. My favorite aspect of Amazon Prime Student is that you can rent textbooks as well. It is the cheapest place I’ve found for textbooks. I normally pay around $30 for a book for the whole semester. At the end of the semester they give me a return label and I send it back with no issues. You also have the option to rent eTextbooks that you can read on any device that has the Kindle app on it. Amazon-Student
  • Trendy Gear – I’m a sucker for a great bag, and when I saw the turquoise Ogio Soho bag I had to have it. It even has polka dots on the inside lining. It’s bright and loud, just like me. I also get my notebooks, pens, and highlighters from the College Checklist. You can also find great dorm life essentials and take advantage of the Prime Pantry to get food sent to your dorm. Amazon Prime Student Textbook Rental
  • Tech –   Everything on my desk came from Amazon. My Macbook Pro, G-Drive, port dock, backpack, textbooks, and even the camera that I used to take this picture. Best deals for everything you need. Printers, backup storage, computers, or tablets Amazon has everything and the best honest reviews anywhere so that you can make the best decision. Not to mention the best customer service and return policy if you don’t love your purchase. Amazon Prime Student

With Amazon Prime Student you get free two-day shipping, a discounted membership rate of $49, which is half the price of a regular Prime membership. All the perks of being a Prime member like unlimited photo storage, millions of Prime music songs, a free pre-released book every month from the Kindle First program (my all time favorite perk), and unlimited streaming of Amazon Video. Being a Prime member is awesome, but being an Amazon Prime Student member is even better. It’s really simple to sign up if you have a university email address.

When you’re an Amazon Prime Student, you also are a part of a referral program that you can share with your fellow students. What’s cool about the programs is that you’ll earn $5, and they earn $5 just for joining! It’s a win-win situation.
