Oh yeah, I totally went there. It’s Pi Day (3.14) and what better way to celebrate than with nerdy goodness. It’s a day for S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Music) learning and the people that love it. Our family is a big fan of all of them.
Another thing that we need to do for Pi Day is to discuss something I wish never existed, bullying. One out of every four students reports being bullied during the school year. It happens for many reasons, but kids that demonstrate intelligence are often singled out for harassment. This year, in honor of Pi Day (3.14), the stars of popular Netflix series, Project Mc2 (featuring Danica McKellar) based on the popular line of dolls created by MGA Entertainment, are broadcasting an important message: Nerds Are Cool (#NAC).
In partnership with Project Mc², Poptropica, a virtual world created by Jeff Kinney (author of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series) will launch its first STEM-themed, exclusive, custom branded experience – the Project Mc²Science Fair. Inside the virtual science fair, which will be featured on Poptropica’s map of islands, kids will be able to conduct a Project Mc² experiment, watch video, engage with the dolls from Project Mc² and win Project Mc² rewards to use throughout Poptropica for the duration of the campaign. Poptropica will be introducing additional initiatives to engage millions of kids with STEM-based activities throughout the year. Poptropica and Project Mc² look forward to inspiring kids with STEM with the Project Mc² Science Fair launching today.
I love this! We celebrated Pi Day at my school.
