Celebrating New Year’s Eve with kids can be tough. They can barely keep their eyes open and a lot of time parents make their own “adult” plans for that evening, but there is no reason kids can’t celebrate the new year when there are fun Noon Year’s Eve activities all over town. Noon Year’s is celebrated 12 hours earlier so that kids can enjoy it with the sun still up!

Fernbank Museum Rings in the New Year with Noon Year’s Eve
A Balloon Drop, DJ, Games And More Make This A Fun Event For The Whole Family!
Fernbank Museum of Natural History will host its third annual family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration, Noon Year’s Eve, on Saturday, December 31 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Held twelve hours before the official start of the new year, Noon Year’s Eve will feature a Resolution Station, B98.5’s Tripp West spinning kid-approved tunes, and a balloon drop of prehistoric proportions. The popular event caters to youngsters who cannot always celebrate past bedtime.
At noon, guests will be invited to ring in the Noon Year in Fernbank’s Great Hall as 3,000 balloons cascade from the atrium overhead. DJ Tripp West will lead the countdown, along with hosting games and dancing throughout the event. In addition, the Georgia Bubbleman will be blowing giant, celebratory bubbles on Fernbank’s front lawn. To round out the event, visitors will have the opportunity to write and share their 2017 resolutions at the Resolution Station. Noon Year’s Eve visitors will also have the chance to catch the final days of the temporary exhibit, The World’s Largest Dinosaurs, which closes on January 2, 2017. The World’s Largest Dinosaurs takes visitors beyond the bones and into the bodies of some of the most massive creatures to ever live by examining life-sized bones, muscles, internal organs, and more.
Noon Year’s Eve has become one of Fernbank’s most popular annual events. This year, advance ticket purchase (for both members and non-members) is highly encouraged, as the event will have limited capacity to allow guests the best possible experience. To purchase tickets in advance, guests can visit fernbankmuseum.org/visit/
