As a mother of a NICU baby, my heart melted when I saw these adorable and sweet pictures that the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta took of these babies and their bright futures. They spend their days dreaming as they heal.
The NICU nurses know that tubes, wires and beeping can be scary so they make it easier on the parents. This was a great way to show that. These picture don’t scare me or stress me out. They give hope, which is how my daughters middle name came to be.
That these babies have bright futures like being a Top Chef or ballerina.
Future doctors that may help babies in the NICU one day. It takes strong men and women to handle these little lives.
Children’s is the best place in Atlanta for little ones. It’s my go to for doctors and care. I was thankful that Peanut was under the care of the cardiologists from Sibley Heart. They came to us at a different hospital, but had her condition worsened we would have been transported to CHOA.
About the photos: CHOA photographed these big dreamers in the NICU at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite on Aug. 29, 2014. Each of these little ones came into the world between 25 and 37 weeks gestation with legs barely thicker than a pencil. They’ve already earned nicknames: Future Doctor is “Wild One” and Future Gymnast is “Squirmy.” As of Oct. 6, 2014, Future Astronaut is home with his family, and the others continue to dream with us in the NICU.
