After driving all day and visiting the Magic Kingdom for the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party all evening, my family convinced me to stay at the resort for the day and hit the parks another day. We stayed in the Omni Orlando for the first half of our trip, and I’m so glad we stayed because the weather got cold after this day.
The Omni Orlando was decorated for Christmas, and it was stunning. After eating a yummy buffet breakfast at Trevi’s we walked around the resort to decide what we wanted to do first. We checked out the loaded game room to see what kind of games they had to play. We were fond of the air hockey table, Ms. Pac Man, and Need for Speed.
But the kids ultimately decided that it was the pool that they wanted to play in. I mean come on, they have a lazy river, and it was heated! So we got our swimsuits on and headed for the pools. I love that the pool has a walk in area for the little ones. It also had a splash pad for little ones as well with fountains shooting out of the ground. My kids are so funny; they were making friends left and right around the pool area. Then we would jump into the lazy river for a few laps while my youngest laid on my chest. The lazy river had water spouts, waterfalls, and even a water cannon that we tried to dodge while making our way around. It was so much fun. The only way I could drag them away from the pool was with the temptation of food.
After an excellent lunch, we got to do something fun together that my girls are always begging me to do, bake! We visited Trevi, and the staff helped my daughters bake their own personal pies.
Peanut wanted to add all three flavors into the pie shell. We had to cut her off in order to close it up. It was so well organized with plenty of staff to help the guests with their pies. We got to choose from apple, strawberry, or blueberry. Then they showed them how to use the egg wash and close it up with a fork, so the filling didn’t come out into the fryer.
After the pies were finished frying, they covered them with sugar and cinnamon and gave them back to the girls to sit down and enjoy. I think they would have stayed in there baking all day if they had let them.
It was an excellent day of just hanging around the Omni Orlando together. The resort is far more family friendly than I thought it was. They have so many fantastic things for kids to do. We didn’t get a chance to roast marshmallows by the fire because we were at the Magic Kingdom, but I know my family would have enjoyed it.
We ordered room service that evening so that we could eat in our pajamas in bed. The food was fantastic, and the kids loved that they rolled the table right up between the beds, and it popped open to fit all our food and drinks on it.

Check out day 3 of our adventure at Disney Hollywood Studios.
A pie making station sounds amazing! I wonder if they offer gluten-free pie dough for those who have food allergies? Glad you guys enjoyed your stay.
I didn’t even think to ask! But it was a blast for sure.
