After you get done with a day of Apple Picking in Ellijay you can also get your Pumpkin while you are up there.Something me and my family have been doing since before we even moved to Georgia is coming to North Georgia for fall. Apple picking, Leaf Looking in the mountains and Pumpkin Farms. It’s my favorite time of year!
The one place that I hope everyone knows about at this point is Burt’s Pumpkin Farm. It’s one of the only places you can get a 150 lb pumpkin. We take the whole extended family to take fall pictures, enjoy a hayride and some of the best Cheddar popcorn.
Hayrides Daily in October and at the very end you get an amazing view of Amicalola Falls. Keep in mind that this year the storms were not kind to the pumpkins and there are not as many as there usually is this year.
The most direct route through the MAiZE can be walked in about 45 minutes, but most wandering MAiZE-goers will require about an hour to poke along the more than 3 miles of paths.
Come for the day! Enjoy a farm tour, the MAiZE, play on the jumpee pillow, enjoy some finger-lickin’ good farm food and gather ’round a bonfire with friends!
Food Concession: BBQ, snacks + chips, candy, drinks, hot chocolate, hot dogs, hamburgers
Take the hayride out to the Pumpkin Patch — A great picture-taking opportunity for the parents! Pick out your pumpkins and take the hayride back to get some apple cider, a homemade fried pie and some boiled peanuts and popcorn. The kids will enjoy the playground and baby farm animals.
My absolute favorite is Corn Dawgs in Loganville, GA. There is so much to do – and tons of it is included in the price of admission. We usually go more than once because the kids have so much fun (and so do the adults).
