Raspberry Frozen Yogurt – Low Calorie

We love ice cream around here. We also love raspberries. But We are cutting back on the junk food and fatty ice creams had to go. So I decided to make something to replace it. Frozen Yogurt! It’s extremely easy to make and only contains a handful of ingredients. I’ve also replaced the sugar in it. You can also use any type of fruit in place of the Raspberries. If you do I suggest cutting out some of the stevia because the fruit will be sweeter. (Raspberries tend to be bitter to some people) So here we go! Raspberry Frozen Yogurt

Gather your ingredients together. Make sure your raspberries are thawed out.

Place your Raspberries into a food processor and puree the raspberries.

Strain the Raspberry puree to get all the seeds out.

This is the part where I get super messy and wish I had an apron on to wipe my hands.

You may need to push the puree through the strainer. But you don’t want to add water because it will cause your frozen yogurt to get too “icy.”

After you push it all through you are left with a beautiful seedless puree. If you don’t mind the seeds then by all means skip this step!

Add your Greek Yogurt and stevia to a bowl. Mix until the stevia is dissolved. After it’s all blended add your raspberry puree and mixe if all up.

Next you’ll place the mixture in your ice cream maker and blend to the manufacturers directions. But if your like me you don’t own an ice cream maker so you so things the old fashioned way with a bag of ice and some rock salt. Or you can place it into the freezer for 20 minutes. Take it out and squish the bag around to mix it up. Place it back in the freezer another 20 minutes, take out squish bag.

Rinse and repeat until it’s nice and thick.

There you have it! Yummy Raspberry Frozen Yogurt.

What you will need:

3 Cups (24 oz) of Greek Yogurt

3 1/2 tbsp of Truvia (Stevia)

10 oz of Frozen Raspberries

Thaw Raspberries. Puree in a food processor. Strain seeds out.

Blend Greek Yogurt and stevia until it’s dissolved. Add your raspberry puree and mix well.

Place in your ice cream maker and blend as instructed in the manufacturers directions.

Place in freezer to harden further or enjoy right out of the machine!

If it’s your first time using Truvia and aren’t sure of the conversions from sugar to stevia (stevia is much sweeter than sugar) check out this handy chart.

  1. I really wish I had an ice cream maker. So much CRAP is in the stuff we buy at the store. I want pure ice cream like this recipe.
