Growing teeth can be tough and painful, but it’s so rewarding when those first couple of teeth pop out. Thats when you can start getting pictures of that sweet toothy grin. When our amber teething necklace wasn’t working enough for the pain we always used a tiny dab of Orajel. Another way we helped with the teething pain was letting her chew on toothbrushes or the gum brushes. That seems to do the trick for breaking those teeth that needed a little extra push.
Our little ones hold on to their baby teeth for the better part of their childhood. I’ve meet parents that didn’t take good care of their child’s teeth and they rotted when they were still little. It doesn’t take much to help teach your kids or even to brush your child’s teeth for them. I’ve been helping brush Peanut’s teeth since they first popped out. They came in out of the normal order that other babies came out. JaMonkey’s first tooth was on top, but Peanut’s came in on the bottom first. It took a really long time too but I attribute that to her being a preemie. Seems like everything was wonky because she was so early.
Boy does time fly. Now she brushes her own teeth. We use our Orajel toothbrush because it fits into her hand perfectly and the colored bristles show her where to cover her teeth. Not to mention she LOVES Elmo! It’s great that Orajel has products for every stage or Smilestone your child has. She’s mastered the smiling brush and getting all sides of her mouth. I normally go over them again just in case but for the most part she’s mastered brushing her own teeth! Next up, potty training…yeah (sarcastic grin)!
