  • Recap of Callaway Gardens Harvest Moon Festival

The start to October and Fall was a huge hit down at Callaway Gardens where they hosted the inaugural Harvest Moon Festival and Feast. With Celebrity Chef Claire Robinson host of Food Networks 5 Ingredient Fix kicking off the Harvest Feast on Thursday and Pop up kitchens preparing what was my favorite part of the whole weekend, the food. The Farmers Market was also much bigger than it normally was this weekend with some great local vendors.

We stayed on the grounds so that we could enjoy the gardens and beautiful weather with my family. We took long walks. Tried to catch butterflies while trying out every bench swing on the grounds. We roamed around the biggest vegetable and fruit garden I’ve ever seen. Teaching our daughter about what the different vegetables were which she loved because she was able to see her corn came from beyond her dinner plate.

When we weren’t feeding turtles, ducks and fish we were playing on the playground with all the other kids while my husband and I listened to the music. The beach was filled with tons of laughter from all the families sharing such a great weekend together. After the sun went down we settled onto the big hill under our jackets to listen to some classics from The B52’s a band that holds a special place in my heart because my husband loves to sing to me and one of the songs that he used to sing to me was Rock Lobster. Total goof ball.

The following day was an all day full of more delicious food and music. Including Mat Kearney, Shawn Mullins, and even the Gin Blossoms. It was a real treat  that I plan on attending every year! Might make it a great family tradition.

Hope to see you at next years Harvest Moon Festival at the beautiful Callaway Gardens.

Firebird
really liked it
Firebird is a solid dark romantasy read. You have dragon-shifter political leaders of Rome. A witch who I don’t think we have seen the full extent of her power yet. There were so many little side stories told that I believe our FMC will ...
Sunrise on the Reaping
it was amazing
Oh Haymich, my heart is shattered for you. This was the perfect bridge between The Ballard of Songbirds and Snakes and Catching Fire. Linking the wickedness of The Hunger Games with the victors who came together to end them. If Suzanne C...
Some Like It Scot
liked it
This was a sweet romance read. I really enjoyed the audiobook narrators (Joshua Manning and Stina Nielsen). I don’t usually read books that fall into the religious category, but I’m a sucker for Scots and Irishman so that is why I wanted...
My Demon Hunter
really liked it
I am thoroughly enjoying the Hell Bent series. My Demon Hunter was even better than My Funny Demon Valentine. I’m a sucker for demonology stories, and these are filled with all kinds of interesting characters. This one features a plus-si...
