When you are traveling with your family it’s at the top of your list. Where are we going to stay? That’s a loaded question because it comes with a long list of needs that you will need covered. As a parent of two children one of them being a baby I need to make sure the place I am staying is going to make my life easier so that it’s a relaxing vacation or trip. Atlanta Moms on the Move got a first hand look at the Residence Inn hotel in Atlanta to get an idea of the basic option that they offer. Options that I feel are some of the best on the market in terms of hotel amenities.
Residence Inn in unlike a regular hotel that only has one room with two beds in it. They offer three different room styles to fit your families needs . You can choose from a studio, 1 bedroom, and 2 bedroom suites. The rooms that have bedrooms also have a living room area with a sleeper sofa (Pictured above). When you are traveling with kids you want to be able to put them to be at their normal bedtime and stay up to watch TV or just relax without having to worry about them waking up. So having separate sleeping areas is a great feature. If you opt for the 2 bedroom style (great for larger families) it is set up like a roommate plan so each bedroom has it’s own bathroom. Um, teenagers anyone?
Each room in fully-equipped with a kitchen and includes cooking utensils, flatware and china as well as a full-size refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, dishwasher and cooktop (ovens also available in select locations). They offer a full hot breakfast with tons of options. Need to grab some groceries but are busy running around? Residence Inn offers a grocery delivery service (included with your stay, you only pay for the cost of the food). Your child can’t go to bed without milk, call ahead so that they can pick it up for you and have it waiting in your room. Now that’s what I call service! Select Residence Inn locations host evening BBQ’s or “Social Hours” where appetizers and in some cases full dinners are served. You can cut the most expensive part of your trip down with the food options that they offer. Did I mention FREE full hot breakfast?!
Let’s recap on the best features:
- Separate Living, Sleeping, Eating areas
- Suite (apartment style) Rooms
- FREE Hot Breakfast (LOTS of options)
- Grocery delivery service that is only the cost of the groceries
- Full kitchens with cookware and utensils
- Evening social hours that have food, drinks and snacks (included in your stay). Cutting out your eating out budget.
- The longer you stay the better the discounts
