The Dark Legacy of Elder Shaw themes this year’s Haunted Cavern at Ruby Falls for its 11th season, opening Friday and Saturday September 26 and 27, every Friday-Sunday beginning October 3 till November 1, as well as October 9. Get in line by 7:30 pm nightly for the Freak Parade if you dare! From the moment you step out of your car, the terror begins. 2014 marks the 64th anniversary of the massacre of the mining town of Carrion Ridge. This was the last known settlement visited by the infamous Elder Shaw’s Miraculous Medicine Show. Citizens here became hostile and an outbreak turned the townspeople into mindless fiends. Elder Shaw peddled “Legacy Tonic – a cure-all for the ages.” The tonic’s side effects included the amplification of savage, murderous behavior. Now 64 years later, the town comes back to life, hunting any trespassers!
