This past week we took our love for dogs to a new level with a fun new family movie called Think Like a Dog. What’s not to love about hearing your dog’s thoughts!?

Think Like a Dog is premiering in households everywhere on Digital, On-Demand, Blu-ray, and DVD June 9.
Josh Duhamel and Megan Fox star in this whimsical family comedy about a boy and his dog, and a science project that will change all of their lives forever.Think Like a Dog follows 12-year-old Oliver, a tech prodigy whose middle-school science fair experiment goes awry, creating a telepathic connection between him and his furry friend, Henry. The bond brings Oliver and Henry even closer as they join forces to comically overcome complications at school, and help Oliver’s parents rekindle their marriage along the way.
I spoke with Todd Stashwick, the voice of Henry the dog, and one of the funniest characters in Think Like a Dog, and he shares his love for this role for you.
I know your family has a few pets. I would love to hear your thoughts on the family dynamic and how you think pets play a role.
Todd Stashwick: It’s funny because this role is probably the closest to who I actually am. Henry is an earnest, goofball. A far cry from the villains I usually play.

What do you think they would say if you could hear what your dogs (or cats) were thinking?
TS: Our pets are members of the family. I’m sure they would constantly be asking us why we are rushing around worrying so much. You know, “come sit, have a snack, a nap…something, just chill.” Our animals add so much to the home, they are so uncomplicated that it helps us keep perspective. Plus they are so dang fuzzy.
Stashwick said his family has “two dogs, three cats, a bird, a fish, and a gecko. It’s a zoo!”
We can relate to this feeling. We have three dogs running around spoiled in our house. I couldn’t imagine life with dogs. They complete our family and make it whole. When you’re sad, they are there to cuddle and give you sweet kisses.
Think Like a Dog also touches on hard topics that some children face like divorce and moving. I think the message of family and how communication as a whole is so important. Especially if the dog gets it!
