Remember when phones were heavy and thick? You had a leather case that wrapped around it and allowed the antenna to stick out the top. You had extra battery packs that you could pop in when the others died while you played snake. I’m so glad that technology has changed so much and so fast in my time. It seems like there is a new hot smartphone every month, and every month I sit in front of the TV like a child watching new toy commercials. My level of techie geekdom is pretty high. It’s the game changing features that get me fired up. Like some of the new ones on the new DROID Turbo Sapphire by Motorola.
I think everyone agrees on one feature that all phones wish they can achieve. Long battery life. The new DROID Turbo has a 48 hour battery life. That’s two full days of calls, texts, and social media sharing. It makes me think of all those people that were stranded during the Atlanta Snowmageddon or my 22 hour flight from Australia. Yeah, it’s as awful as it sounds.
Which brings me to my next favorite feature, water-repellent nano-coating and Corning Gorilla Glass help protect the device from spills and scratches. Can you say Mom’s new best friend? As a mom that has dropped my phone in tubs, had my kids spill drinks on and the occasional temper tantrum toss against the wall, I’m pretty happy about that. I also love the Sapphire blue color. It has a ballistic nylon backing that gives it a sleek modern look but still rugged.
Motorola is now backed by the power of Google so all their great tech is available in the palm of your hand. Out of all of the phones I’ve tested and reviewed, Google’s voice command (Ok Google) is unmatched at all the great things it can do. The fact that you can say, Ok Google, from anywhere in the room and it listens to your commands is fantastic. When I tested the Moto X, it that the stand out feature that has me ready to switch. Other smartphone companies should take notes.
What are some of the features that you look for in your smartphone?
