Looking for a fun activity to do with your little ones to celebrate the 4th of July or another patriotic holiday? You can make these sparkle bottles with a few supplies. It will be the perfect thing to keep the kids busy before the fireworks. You can munch on some patriotic popcorn and celebrate your independence!
Sparkle bottles are like a patriotic lava lamp. Watch the stars fall slowly in fun red, white, and blue.
Here is what you’ll need:
Plastic water bottle with the label removed
Red, blue and silver star confetti
Glycerin
Water
Glitter (optional)
Fill 3/4 of the water bottle with water.
Add as much glitter and confetti as you would like to the bottles.
Fill the rest of the bottle up with glycerin.
Replace lid.
Shake, shake, shake
*if you use red confetti, the color may bleed into the water causing it to turn slightly pink. Still just as fun though 🙂
These bottles are not only fun to make with kids, but they also keep impatient little ones entertained while they are waiting for the fireworks.
Have fun and have a happy 4th of July!
Such a fun idea. I have a little one coming to join us next week so this would make for a great project for him!
Does the type of glycerin matter? I’m googling it and there’s so many different types.
It shouldn’t matter, as long as it’s a clear one. Some vegetable ones are a little discolored. You can also use clear glue, I’ve done this in the past to make the glitter “time out” bottles.
Can you use aloe because it is pretty thick
There is also hand sanitizer that we Canute instead right
