I'm geeking out about the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Even more so now that I found out that Target has exclusive content on its version. Not to mention that it's almost my favorite geek holiday, May the 4th be with you. To celebrate I've compiled a list of some of my favorite must have Star Wars items.
Of course you'll need to pick up the latest movie, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. As I mentioned before Target has the best version. It has a bunch of deleted scenes and bonus features that aren't available on digital download or any of the other Blu-ray versions.
For the kids:
UNICEF Kid Power Limited Edition Star Wars Force for Change Bands – UNICEF Kid Power gives kids the power to save lives. By getting active with the UNICEF Kid Power Band, kids go on missions to earn points and unlock therapeutic food packets for severely malnourished children around the world. Globally, one in four children is malnourished – about 159 million children worldwide – while one in four children in the United States is inactive. Malnutrition is attributable to nearly half of all deaths of children under age five, and 16 million children suffer from the most life-threatening form of malnutrition – severe acute malnutrition – which can require specialized care with therapeutic food packets. The therapeutic food packets unlocked by UNICEF Kid Power contain a specially-designed protein and vitamin-rich peanut paste, which allows children who are severely malnourished to be treated in their communities and has the potential to transform millions of lives of malnourished children around the world.
The Sphero BB-8 Droid – I got BB-8 as an early birthday present to myself when it was on sale at Target and Target was offering a $25 off coupon on Star Wars toys. He is so much fun to play with and chase the dogs around with. You can set him to explore on his own or control him with your smartphone. He plays messages just like R2-D2 that are prerecorded or you can record your own. My favorite thing though is how he interacts with The Force Awakens. You have to keep him on the base so that he stays charged and you also have to keep your app on as well so that the microphone can hear the movie. BB-8 will interact with the move and characters will pop up on the screen.
Bladebuilders Lightsaber – Everyone needs a lightsaber….because….well because they are cool! DUH! My girls have recently taken up imagination play that doesn't include princesses (mini parenting win). They traded in their tiaras for a lightsaber and have been having a blast. May the 4th be with you! Free Shipping on all Star Wars Toys and Games!
I'm slightly obsessed with the Her Universe collection. I bought this awesome Lightsaber dress from Torrid that I wore to the screening. I was channeling my inner dark side with my butt-kicking boots. I also just bought the new Kylo Ren dress from The Force Awakens line.
